Administrator's Message
Greeting Village School Community!
Hopefully you got a chance to check out the Strawberry Full Moon last night. It’s been gorgeous for the last few nights. This month you can also see Saturn, Venus, Mercury, and Mars at various times during the night. Also, the summer Solstice is coming up on the 20th! It’s been so nice having these long days to enjoy the warm gold glow of the sun.
It’s the last week of school (in case you didn’t notice) and we’ve been busier than ever. Spring concert, field trips, yearbook production, projects, clean up, organization, and the upcoming Rose Ceremony and Graduation Ceremony have all been keeping us moving and shaking.
Speaking of graduation, we want to say that we are so proud of our graduates and of all of our students still orbiting our campus! We will miss our eighth-grade students, but we know you are moving on toward great things. This afternoon we were treated with a visit from the VS alum class of 2021 graduates! They stopped by in full regalia to say hi and answer any questions our middle school class might have.

It’s been a great year, from our perspective. Our community is tightly woven and stands up to the test of time and cultural upheaval. We hope your summer is filled with new and fantastic adventures and that you return in the fall renewed and ready for a new year. Thank you all,
Sincerely,
Roz, Shannon, and Andy
Lost & Found
Don't forget to check out the Lost & Found in the breezeway in front of the office! All items will be donated after the end of the day on Friday.

The 6th, 7th and 8th graders shared their wonderful musical talents us with us Monday.
Below we have photos of their performances:

The 6th Graders got to take an LTD Bus on a delightful field trip to the Eugene Public Library, Voodoo Doughnut, and Portal Tea.
Handwork News
Take a look at all of these finished Handwork projects!
3rd & 5th Grade Art Classes
The 3rd grade has been busy making butterflies and the 5th grade making flowers with clay:
Commemorative Tiles for Our Courtyard Mural!
Check out our commemorative tiles to help fundraise for our courtyard mural. The tiles offer a great opportunity to share a legacy with our school. The tiles come in two sizes and businesses can upload their logos. They will be situated under the roof by the entrance to the Commons, right next to the location of the mural.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Village Kitchen
Third grade students, Alma and Oriah, harvested over 160 snap peas from the school garden this week. These were included in the sack lunch bags for the 3rd and 4th grade field trip.

For our last school lunch of the year we will be serving a crowd favorite, focaccia pizza! We will also be serving fresh picked strawberries from 10 Stars. This organic farm is run by Estela and Florentino Contreras. Originally from Mexico, they raised their eight children in Junction City. They named their farm 10 Stars after their family - a star for each person gathered around the kitchen table. You can find Estela and Florentino selling their produce at the Lane County Farmers market.

Thank you Village School Community for another fabulous year of serving good food made with love for our students and staff. We hope you all have a fun and relaxing summer.
Warmly,
Toña Aguilar

Alumni Visit
Eight former Village School students from the class of 2021 came to visit our middle school students, share their experiences from our local high schools (North, South, Churchill, and A3), and answer questions. For everyone present, the words of our alumni truly riveted everyone's attention. We appreciate the time they took to give our current students a picture of what to expect beyond the walls of The Village School.

Village School Lunch Diaries
A year of vibrant and gorgeous Village School lunches. Thank you Toña for running our food program with such vision, passion, and love! Thank you to all of our kitchen staff for your tireless work each and every day, creating these masterpieces for students and staff. Thank you to our dedicated parent volunteers for helping to ensure that our kitchen program can run smoothly. We couldn't do it without you! (... and thank you to Chrissy for documenting all of these great meals in pictures!!)
