The purpose of the ITB is to establish a Contract for Kitchen and Cafeteria HVAC Upgrade for the benefit of THE VILLAGE SCHOOL.  The Work contemplated under this Contract includes all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and services for, and incidental to, the completion of all construction Work in connection with the project described in the Contract Documents.  

The VILLAGE SCHOOL kitchen and cafeteria HVAC upgrade is one of two HVAC upgrade procurements subject to federal funding approved by the Oregon Department of Education nutrition division. The other is for the Village School's middle school, small offices, and gym and is funded with Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II) resources. The procurements are separate because their funding sources and authorizations are different. 

The kitchen and cafeteria currently are connected to a legacy steam heat gas-fired system. The goal is to upgrade these systems to heat pumps, and modern heat-exchange enabled ventilation. Fourteen classrooms at the site were recently upgraded to Mitsubishi heat pumps in November 2020 which means that system compatibility is a priority.

VOLUNTARY PRE-BID CONFERENCE:
Two pre-bid tour will be held on Wednesday June 9th and Friday June 11th from 1PM to 3PM (PST), located at THE VILLAGE SCHOOL, 3411 Willamette St., Eugene OR 97405

Any statements made at this conference will not change the Plans, Specifications or other Contract Documents unless an Addendum has been issued from THE VILLAGE SCHOOL and advertised on the ORPIN System.

BIDDERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND EITHER OF THESE VOLUNTARY PRE-BID CONFERENCES, BUT WITH THE COMPLEXITY OF THIS PROJECT IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT BIDDERS OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVE ATTEND.
