Administrator's Message

Dear Village School Community,

We hope you all get a chance to attend this week's Winter Concert! This is always one of the high points of the year for our teachers and students. We hold the concert in the Churchill High School auditorium on Friday, Dec 12th. The show starts at 6:30pm.

We’ve had a few complaints of late regarding after school supervision. We thought it might be a good time to re-share our after school pick up policy in hopes of reducing after school conflicts between students.

Pick up Policy:

It is important to us that the school grounds remain a safe and healthy space for child learning and development. For these reasons, we enforce the following protocol for after school pick up times: Starting at 2:50pm, all children grade five and lower must be accompanied by a parent or guardian WITHIN ~25 FEET of the child. Any students grades five and below not accompanied by a parent or guardian will be directed to the after care program. All students (except those in aftercare) should be off campus by 3:15pm, unless otherwise directed by staff.

Thank you for helping to keep our school safe! Hope to see you Friday at the winter concert!

Sincerely,

Roz, Shannon, and Andy

4th Grade Salmon Release Trip

On Thursday, the 4th grade took a field trip to release 100 fall chinook salmon into The Willamette River. The salmon had been in the classroom since early October as part of our main lesson on Pacific Salmon.  When we got to the river, the class circled around the salmon and shared poems, letters, and well wishes. Then each student had a chance to release 4 salmon fry into the river.
