Administrator's Message
Greetings Village School Community!Â
Tomorrow the new moon in Scorpio will be its farthest distance (apogee) from Earth for the next eighteen years, which makes it a new micromoon! For those who like details, it will be 252,706 miles away from Earth and won’t be this far away again until 2043. It’s fun to think about where we might be when this moon makes its way back to this far reaching distance. Our kindergarten students will be twenty-three years old! What will the world look like? Will we finally get a flying car that folds down into a briefcase?
Speaking of time marching forward, next week is already the beginning of our holiday season. Since we will all be off (hopefully feeling lots of gratitude for the people and circumstances in our lives) there will not be a Village Voice next week.Â
BTW: The Register-Guard just published an article about our mural. Check it out!
Wishing you an abundant harvest season,
Roz, Shannon, and Andy
Third Grade Happenings
The 3rd graders dyed t-shirts using flowers from Mabel and Kate's garden recently! They'll wear these shirts on trips and other special occasions. Big thanks to Kate Hirst for organizing this very special project!
Village School Kitchen

We have a super special meal in the works! This week we have been doing extra prep every day to be able to provide a harvest festival meal to students and staff on Friday. Gravy - done, cranberry sauce - done, dicing onions, carrots, celery, and the first 20 lbs of mushrooms for the shepherd's pie - done. Dicing apples, leeks, fennel and bread for the stuffing - tomorrow! Peeling potatoes, slicing brussels sprouts and chopping kale - with a little help from our friends. Tearing crimini mushrooms and gathering pomegranate arils, still SO MANY! If you are able to lend a hand, come on by the kitchen; we have A LOT more to do tomorrow and Friday morning to pull off our Village Harvest Feast.

Big thanks to 8th grade helpers Opal and Amaia for working on the criminis today.
And huge gratitude to Mohawk River Blueberry Farm for their generous donation of MANY gallons of delicious apple cider which we will be serving on Friday. Â
It is AMAZING what a community of big hearted humans can pull off when gathered together with purpose and aligned in heart and mind.
With love,
Toña
