Administrator's Message
Greetings Village School Community!
This past Saturday we celebrated the Village School’s 25th birthday. The party was beautiful! We danced, we ate and drank, we sang, and we connected with friends, but most importantly, we marked our school’s first twenty five years in existence. Some of our special milestones: implementation of the first public K-8 comprehensive sexual education program in the nation, pioneering an award winning scratch kitchen lunch program, graduating 500 students from our 8th grade, producing and performing 200 plays, and (hopefully) helping to inspire hundreds and hundreds of artists, mathematicians, poets, scientists, teachers, designers, musicians, etc., etc. Near the end of the evening, a candle lighting ceremony was facilitated by Matthew Bigongiari, one of our school’s founders. In his words:
When our school began, a light was lit. It has grown stronger over time, and will, ojala (I hope), grow brighter into the future. The candles represent the light our school community helps to bring into the world.
It was notable that we needed to protect our flames from strong winds. It also meant we had to share our light with one another as lights blew out. It seemed like a fitting metaphor for our current time, when we might need to rely on our community more and more to keep our internal lights healthy and shining.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize and put on the event and a big thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate!

Sincerely,
Roz, Shannon, and Andy

Commemorative Tiles for Our Courtyard Mural!
Check out our commemorative tiles to help fundraise for our courtyard mural. The tiles offer a great opportunity to share a legacy with our school. The tiles come in two sizes and businesses can upload their logos. They will be situated under the roof by the entrance to the Commons, right next to the location of the mural.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
